| A non-commercial property refers to buildings or businesses not intended to generate a profit. Generally, these buildings are considered “limited access,” as they are often not set up to quickly and efficiently receive deliveries.Depending on the amount of additional time a driver will need at a delivery, the carrier may or may not charge for this. The charges can be applied rather arbitrarily, depending on the driver’s experience or at the terminals’ designation. We always recommend that quotes include the non-commercial designation.
Some non-commercial properties include:
-Farms
-Libraries
-Museums
-Piers/Wharves
-Storage facilities
-Churches
When quoting, you can select your non-commercial delivery site. The drop down menu is on the left side of the quote screen:

Please remember that not all non-commercial properties can be listed, as we just learned that a casino is considered non-commercial. It is not listed because not all carriers consider it a non-commercial property. If you are still unsure after reviewing the drop down menu, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
