Welcome to our first newsletter that we will be sending out once a month.

We want to assure you that we will not spam your inbox but will only be using this as a tool to inform and educate on the transportation shipping busines, as well as news and updates within our company.  We urge you to read these newsletters as they can supply you with valuable information that can help to save time and money.

We will also be running contests from time to time that only those who are receiving our newsletters will be eligible for. This might include tickets to a special local event or drawing for a prize, stay tuned!

FREIGHT CONSOLIDATORS
We have noticed a trend that some of our clients do not fully understand what a consolidator carrier is and how they operate.

A consolidator goes along with the saying, “you get what you pay for”.  We don’t mean to portray them as inferior carriers, but their cheaper prices are often offset  with their “not necessarily on-time” deliveries.

These carriers will make a pick up for a piece of freight and often- but not always- it will sit in the terminal waiting to gather enough freight to head into that lane.  Sometimes that freight will depart on the same day it was picked up but then be held at a connecting terminal waiting to gather more freight. The ETA that carrierrate.com lists is just that, an estimate.  A four day ETA can turn into 5-6 days and in some worst case scenarios, even more.  The ETA for ALL carriers is just an estimate and unless your freight is guaranteed, there is no guarantee that your freight will arrive within the quoted ETA timeframe.

We always encourage anyone that has freight that needs to make a ship, a tradeshow, or a re-stock – any urgent shipment- that they do it using a guaranteed service.  It is just a small additional cost that not only offers a little peace of mind, but if in the off- chance it is not delivered on time, you can be reimbursed the full payment of the shipment.

Roadrunner, Dot-Line, ClearLane and Frontline are all prominent freight consolidators that can be a prudent choice if a shipment is not in a hurry to get to its destination.

Please don’t hesitate to ask us further questions regarding Colsolidators and how they work.
