UPDATE
Please find us on Facebook  and we welcome you to join as we are sharing necessary information about us and the industry periodically.
Greetings,

Summer is officially here which means the produce season will be slowing down. This will help bring truckload prices way down. Contact us and we’ll be happy to assist.

Also, Todd is in New York for his annual 3 week trip until mid-July.  Even though he will be out of the South Florida area, he will still be working hard.  Please don’t hesitate to call and e-mail us.

Please keep in mind that we will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observance of July 4th.  Freight can often get heavily delayed around this time, so be sure to plan accordingly so we can quote guaranteed and expedited freight.

NMFTA Item 680: What You Need to Know
We have recently seen an increase in shipments being hit with NMFTA item 680 and we feel it is important that we should bring the specifics of this item to your attention.
Per NMFTA rules:
“When less than 65 percent of the surface area for the lift truck skid, pallet or platform is occupied, the gross weight of the lift truck skid, pallet or platform and the commodity unitized or secured thereon, will be subject to the class applicable to either the lift truck skid pallet or platform or the commodity, whichever is higher.”
Translation:
If the freight on the skid does not cover at least 65% of the skids surface area, the freight will be classed as the skid itself.  Often this is a density-based class and will generally be 250-400.

Please remind your customers to keep this rule in mind when they are packaging their freight for shipping.

Below is an example of how this rule would come into play:
