It appears that truckload shipping will become more competitive and more expensive over the next few years.  A recent article in the Business Insider claims the industry is about 30,000 drivers short of what they need to move freight.  Carriers reported that they have a turnover of 90% and contributes that turnover to the growing regulations by the government.  In addition, fewer and fewer young people are interested in a focus in the field due to lower pay rates.

Carriers are ready to start investing more in wages to try and attract more drivers.  They are going to need about 100,000 drivers a year to try and keep up with the turnover and the growing demand.  Companies also want to start to offer better training.  At this time, current drivers know its a buyers market and can change an employer at nearly any time.

This month is a birthday month for the Millennium Shipping Team.  Mark celebrated his 32nd birthday on August 16th.  Todd will also be celebrating his 32nd birthday on September 1st.
